Part I January 1972 - Opening article in the series. Introduces the question of why the human mind is vastly superior despite the near-equality of human and higher animal brains.

Part II February 1972 - Continues examining mental activity vs. physiological brain; focuses on how humans can be differentiated from animals.

Part III March-April 1972 - Compares the human brain with various animal brains to test whether physical differences alone can explain the mind.

Part IV May 1972 - Continues the brain-comparison analysis (explicitly referenced in Part V as part of the March–April and May demonstration that the human brain is only “barely superior”).

Part V June 1972 - Summarizes prior findings and begins addressing the ultimate question “What is Man?” (physical only, or with a non-physical component).
