for theirs is the Kingdom of heav'n;

For they shall be forgiv'n.

2. Blessed are the meek in spirit,
for they shall inherit the earth;

For God shall quench their thirst.

3. Blessed are the ones oppressed
for theirs is the Kingdom of hean'n;
Blessed are the ones who mourn,
for God shall comfort them.

4. Blessed are the peaceful ones,
for they shall be children of God;
Blessed are the pure of heart,
